“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth (...) they control the minds of the masses.” Indeed, Malcom X’s words resonate profoundly. Fueling the Renaissance in the 15th century; advancing the Scientific Revolution in the 16th and 17th centuries; empowering Europeans to push for social change during the Age of Enlightenment in the 19th century; and now, in the 21st century, as the fourth estate and a vital check and balance against governmental authority, press agencies have more than adequately shown its influence on societal progress. At this juncture, amidst these tumultuous times, is where press delegates truly exemplify the spirit of journalism. Only in the face of uncertainty and upheaval does their unwavering commitment to truth, integrity, and accountability shine.
